//"Did the UST really 'pull humanity back from the edge of extinction' as we are taught? I suspect not, although for certain they contributed in no small part to the peace and security most of us now enjoy"// - Petter Orland, //History//, 6328

{{:renders:ust_colour.png?200 |}}The original colonization of the solar system was performed under the control of the [[UNCER]]. In the 26th Century the UNCER had morphed into what historians now call the [[Earth Empire]]. When that collapsed in the 35th Century the various states across the solar system faced the real propose of an interplanetary war. This was avoided with the formation of the United Solar Territories (UST), an organization modelled after the old-Earth United Nations.

Whilst the UST barely lasted two centuries it had a huge impact upon the system for millennium. Many scholars agree it was the UST that stopped humanity spiraling into a new dark ages. Many that have come after it including the [[Solar League]] seek to emulate its glory.
