-====== Jupiter ======
-//“Control, the Jakuren has entered normal space safely. We have arrived.”// - Captain Daisuke Tanaka, //Jakuren//, 2071
-Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun and one of the [[Outer Planets]]. Jupiter space is one of the most populated in the solar system containing thousands of [[Habitats]] and the moons Io, Ganymede, Callisto and [[Europa]]. Its close proximity to the [[Belt]] means it is the only planet that a standard [[Beltship]] can journey to.
-After the [[Jakuren]] mission in 2071, Jupiter became an initial staging point for the expansion into the [[Belt]] and the [[Outer Planets]]. By the time of the [[Earth Empire]] in the 26th century Jupiter was already a major hub of commerce and industry. At this point Jupiter space came under tighter control from the home world.
-The [[Outer Planets War]] in the 34th centuries saw many of the outer territories liberated from the Earth Empire, but it wasn't until the collapse of the Earth Empire a century later that Jupiter was truly free. Jupiter space was a founder member of the [[United Solar Territories]] in the 35th century. It was also the site of the surprise attacks by the [[Jharn]] that initiated the [[Big War]] in the 37th century.
-The [[Paragons]] liberated Jupiter from Jharn control in the 41st century. The Kronian Empire then ruled Jupiter space from the 45th to 50th centuries. Then from the 50th to 62nd centuries Jupiter space has been a collection of independent states and alliances.
-In the 56th century the [[Ma-Khar Armada]] threatened Jupiter space, leading to a defensive alliance organised by the government of Europa. Following this incident Europa remained the prime coordinator of Jupiter's defense and it was pressure from Europa that stopped Jupiter Space joining the [[Solar League]] in the 61st century. Fearing an inner-planet-centric organization would be bad for the people of Jupiter space, the Europans created the [[Europan Protectorate]] in the 62nd century. With its existing power base it was quickly able to take control of Jupiter space and the [[Trojans]].
-As of the 64th century Jupiter space is firmly under the control of the Protectorate.
