-//“The universe is big and, although we have yet to discover any traces, I firmly believe there is technologically advanced life out there. I also believe that one day we will meet them. On that day I suspect we will find they are less alien in their thinking than our neighbors the Jharn.” - Marjorie vanHorne, Finite Possibilities of an Infinite World, 3088//+//“The universe is big and, although we have yet to discover any traces, I firmly believe there is technologically advanced life out there.  +//“If the Earth Empire were the villains of history then the Jharn were the monsters. Over two thousand years after their passing playwrights still frighten us with the featureless Jharnic armor hiding something not quite human.”// - Marjit Telsen, //The Unification//, 6277

+{{:renders:jharn.png?200 |}}A technocracy that existed from the 31st to the 41st centuries. Initially one of the [[Hero States]] that broke the hold of the [[Earth Empire]] in later centuries the Jharn became an oppressive regime that conquered the solar system.
 +
+In 3017 a coalition of technology organizations took control of [[Proteus]], one of the moons of [[Neptune]]. Over the next century the civilization we call the Jharn was formed, a society where technology was revered. The technological advances the Jharn made became a threat to the Earth empire, which contributed to the [[Outer Planets War]] in 3339. The Jharn were one of the Hero States that eventually broke the Earth Empire's grip on the Solar System. In the century following the war the Jharn became isolationist and obsessed with the idea of genetic improvement. Their leaders were genetically modified to the point of being technically not human; interaction with baseline humans was avoided and, when necessary, only performed in the distinctive Jharnic armor.
 +
+In the 37th century the Jharic leadership became more militant and began expanding. This brought it into conflict with the newly formed [[United Solar Territories]]. In 3769 this escalated into the [[Big War]]. The Jharn were ultimately victorious and this led to the two centuries long [[Jharn Occupation]] of the solar system.
 +
+Their rule was brutal and fostered many rebellions. In the 40th and 41st centuries rebellions such as the [[Paragon Uprising]] broke the Jharn hold on the Solar system. They retreated to Neptune with the intention of rebuilding their military power. But an internal power struggle termed [[Time Of The Daughters]] caused the Jharn to fracture, with the majority forming an isolationist regime that resides in Neptune today; the losers of the struggle migrated to the [[Kuiper Belt]] where they are believed to have become the [[Ma-Khar]].
