-//"It's weird that people used to live on the surfaces of planets, right? I mean they had no control over the atmospheric conditions or temperature, they called it 'weather'. I'm surprised they survived long enough to build the habitats." - Vanilla//
-
-Most of the inhabitants of the [[Belt]] live in large space stations called habitats. At a minimum habitats provide a safe place for people to live and they contain artificial gravity (provided through [[Gravity Plating]]), radiation shielding, heating, light and sustainable food sources. The habitats in the [[Inner Belt]] and [[Trojans]] tend to be the most spacious, often with large open areas designated as recreational areas; some of the biggest have artificial lakes. In the [[Outer Belt]] the habitats tend to be more functional to the point of being austere.
-
-Like most of the technology in the Belt habitats are grown using [[nanotech]] and the raw materials gathered from asteroid mining. Construction of the larger habitats can take years and be very costly.
